Suomen ainoa R.E.M.-tribuuttiyhtye R.E.M. For The People saapuu Tampereen ja Helsingin G Livelabeihin juhlistamaan 35 vuotta täyttävää vaihtoehtorockin ajatonta kulmakiveä, Automatic for the People -albumia!

R.E.M.:n kahdeksas studioalbumi Automatic for the People ilmestyi lokakuussa 1992 ja nousi suoraan Billboard-listan kakkossijalle. Tummasävyinen ja tunnelmallisen vahva albumi vakiintui yhdeksi yhtyeen arvostetuimmista julkaisuista ja on sittemmin sijoittunut korkealle musiikkilehtien kaikkien aikojen parhaiden levyjen listauksissa.

Klassikkoalbumin 12 kappaleen joukossa ovat muun muassa Drive, Man on the Moon, Everybody Hurts, Nightswimming, The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite ja Find the River. Automatic for the People on ennen kaikkea vahva albumikokonaisuus, jossa melankolia, kauneus, lämpö ja suru kulkevat rinnakkain.

R.E.M. For The People soittaa keikoillaan levyn alusta loppuun alkuperäisessä kappalejärjestyksessä. Albumin jälkeen ilta jatkuu valikoiduilla R.E.M.-hiteillä ja -klassikoilla yhtyeen pitkän uran varrelta.

OPISKELIJALIPUT
 Mikäli tapahtuma ei ole loppuunmyyty, keikalle myydään opiskelijalippuja ovelta ennen konsertin alkua hintaan 20 € / kpl. Opiskelijalippuihin vaaditaan opiskelijakortti tai muu opiskelutodistus. Konsertti on ikärajaton. Kouluikäiselle alle 18-vuotiaalle lapselle voi hankkia myös opiskelijalipun ovelta, mikäli konsertti ei ole ennakkoon loppuunmyyty. Alle kouluikäiset pääsevät keikoille maksutta.

Finland’s only R.E.M. tribute band, R.E.M. For The People, comes to G Livelab in Tampere and Helsinki to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Automatic for the People, an enduring landmark of alternative rock!

R.E.M.’s eighth studio album, Automatic for the People, was released in October 1992 and debuted at number two on the Billboard chart. Dark-toned and atmospheric, the album became one of the band’s most acclaimed releases and has since ranked highly on numerous music publications’ lists of the greatest albums of all time.

The classic album’s 12 tracks include such songs as Drive, Man on the Moon, Everybody Hurts, Nightswimming, The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite and Find the River. Above all, Automatic for the People is a powerful album as a whole, where melancholy, beauty, warmth and sorrow exist side by side.

In their live shows, R.E.M. For The People perform the album in its entirety, from beginning to end and in the original track order. After the album, the evening continues with a selection of R.E.M. hits and classics spanning the band’s long career.

STUDENT TICKETS
 If the event is not sold out, there will be student tickets available at the door for 25 € each (student tickets not sold online) before the show starts. Please show your student card when purchasing student tickets. The concert has no age limit. Children under school age can enter gigs free of charge.
